Two people were arrested Friday at an Occupy Seattle protest in the Central District after protesters interrupted a community meeting and were trespassing, police said.
The incident happened about 2:30 p.m. at a meeting to discuss community partnerships involving the former Horace Mann school, police said. Demonstrators were upset that the former school was not being better used, the Central District News blog reported.
The crowd, which outnumbered officers, included a mix of protesters and anarchists and their aggressive actions caused the meeting to be cancelled, police said. The former school is now home to the Work-it-Out nonprofit program that helps high school dropouts get job training.
Both men arrested - ages 65 and 22 - were disorderly and trespassing, according to police. They are not being named because they haven't been charged. Several other demonstrators were not arrested.
