AFTER coming back from a European sojourn that included the Czech Republic, I was ecstatic to find out that Dusit Thani hotel in Manila was going to have a Czech culinary and culture festival. You see, Czech Republic, especially its capital, Prague, is one awesome place that one has to see. They were able to preserve their architectural buildings, and the city center itself is only toured by foot.
Prague is situated on the north west part of the country where is it separated by the Vltava river. It was an important seat of the Austrian Hungarian empire. Many attractions are worth visiting like the Prague Castle (but i warn you-be ready for the tiring walk up), the Charles Bridge where you can walk amidst artists, and booths selling silver jewelry, or artists willing to sketch your face for a fee. The posts on the Charles Bridge are remarkable. The Jewish Quarter is a poignant place to visit. Since Prague has an extensive and well preserved monuments, it has been named as one of the World Heritage Sites of Unesco.
