I was tagged on Facebook by my friend George Aquino of the JW Marriott (who also reviews restaurants and writes a travel column for The Press) about this weekend’s “KO For Cancer,” a second-year event in which local celebrities box to raise awareness and funds for Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital. George will take on social media celebrity Rob Bliss. Other participants include Joe “Flounder” Piesz of Thunder 94.5, social media guru Jimmy Le, E.O.B. of WSNX-FM, Jennifer Pascua of WZZM-TV and many others. The event begins at 7 p.m. Saturday downtown at the JW Marriott, 235 Louis St. NW. Tickets are $20. Boxers are being trained by Franks Knockout Fitness.
