Ramsbottom United were brought back down to earth in the North West Counties Premier Division with a 3-2 defeat to neighbours Padiham at the Riverside.
The Storks’ superb victory was all the more surprising as they came back from two goals down.
Ian Flannery sent the Rams into a 20th-minute lead and, three minutes into the second half, Jon Robinson doubled their advantage.
But Padiham stunned their high-flying hosts with three goals in 20 minutes.
Barry Shuttleworth began the comeback on 54 minutes, and Lee Morris equalised from the penalty spot five minutes later.
Morris completed the job for the Storks with a 73rd- minute winner, in front of a crowd of 220.
