SAN FRANCISCO — Gracious and humble have been words to describe Roger Craig's personality since he joined the San Francisco 49ers in 1983. It's the same way he approached his 49ers Hall of Fame induction speech Saturday night at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in downtown San Francisco.
"I am so grateful for this honor tonight," Craig said during his speech. "Throughout my career, I was blessed with great teams and great teammates. Tonight I feel privileged to join another great team at the highest level of many of the 49er greats at the Edward J. DeBartolo Sr. Hall of Fame."
Craig was voted in by fans online earlier in the year and his career numbers could be worthy of induction to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. That's what several of Craig's colleagues from his playing days said during the ceremony.
