HUNTSVILLE, Alabama -- Site work has started for a four-story, 88-room SpringHill Suites by Marriott at the Village of Providence.
The projected opening is next August, said Alpesh Patel, CEO of Chattanooga, Tenn.-based Kana Hotel Group.
"The market has strong mid-week business," Patel said, "and the majority of our business will come from the mid-week, corporate traveler."
The daily room rates will be in the $100 to $130 range, he said.
Patel said the amenities at the Village of Providence, the proximity to Cummings Research Park and the growth in the western part of Huntsville make the location attractive for developing a new hotel.
The project is being developed in a joint venture of Kana Hotel Group, Omega Hotel Group in Athens and Village of Providence developers Todd and David Slyman. Kana Hotel Group will manage the hotel.
