Radisson Blu Glasgow is a purpose-built hotel in the very centre of the city. Located opposite Glasgow Central train station, it’s just five minutes’ walk from the ‘other’ main station: Queen Street. As well as being easy to reach, its location is also on the doorstep of the city’s shopping, which is the best in Scotland. For a working visit, the city’s business and financial district is also close by.

The property is in a winning spot; always a good start. Opened in 2002, Radisson Blu Glasgow is one of only three five-star properties in the centre of town. Being purpose-built and new, it should make for coherent presentation of facilities and food and beverage. With one exception, this Radisson does deliver.

Externally, it’s certainly different to look at and has picked up numerous awards on looks alone, but the cliché that ‘it’s what’s inside that counts’ is apposite here. Reception sits inside a huge glass-fronted atrium with an island bar to one side sitting beneath a 40ft ceiling. Check in was hassle-free and up to the third floor then (in one of three glass lifts) and our junior suite overlooking the street at the front of the hotel through floor-to-ceiling windows; all 250 rooms have these, apparently.

I was pressed for lifetime when I booked for a hotel in Munich, Germany when we had our kinsfolk's annual vacation last year. I was pensive of delightful a more overpriced hotel with a guaranteed ease above the cheaper hotels which be filled in Europe. Our 1 Cimmerian dark had already been utilized by searching for the hotel alone! The discovery is not that grand at all because we were within an alley which was the Arab neighbourhood.
