Today, a small milestone in the modernization of the travel industry in India was achieved with the launch of India's first full-featured flights and hotels search application for Android devices.
The free-of-cost app has been developed by iXiGO.com , one of India's leading travel search engines, started in 2007 by Indian Institute of Technology, INSEAD and Amadeus alumni Aloke Bajpai, Rajnish Kumar and Dharmendra Yashovardhan.
Android smartphone users can now instantly search for domestic and international flights and hotels, and compare fares across multiple airlines, hotels and online travel agency websites.
The app also allows users to track flight status and delays -- almost a necessity in India -- plus view hotel maps, information and pictures, and international airport information.
