Perpetually swarmed with tourists, Florence, Italy, is at last trying to make things a little easier for visitors with across-the-board improvements to its tired infrastructure and dated hotel scene. The abysmal Amerigo Vespucci Airport is nearing completion of an expansion and upgrade to its terminals, and both boutique and big-name hotels, like Il Salviatino and the Four Seasons , are adding much needed up-to-date accommodations. The St. Regis made the biggest splash last month with a $25 million renovation of a 1492 Brunelleschi pile that was once the Grand Hotel Florence.

The St. Regis is known for its bespoke butler service and slightly bland, could-be-any-Old World interiors, which can sometimes come off as stuffy bordering on stifling. But the Florence property feels like a new chapter for the hotel company. In a quest to pay homage to the traditions of Tuscany, it commissioned Florentine artisans and craftsmen to give the place some local authenticity — you can really feel the hand, from the individually planed wide chestnut floorboards to the leather panels in the elevator, each burned with a beautiful paisley print. Guest rooms (from $630 per night) were shaved from 107 to 100 to create larger bathrooms and frescoed living spaces. Bottega Veneta designed one of the suites, which appears to be a continuing trend for St. Regis; it recently asked Dior to do a suite in New York. The hotel also bought and restored an impressive collection of decorative arts and antiques, including massive gilded mirrors that flank the walls in the winter garden and marble inlaid tables and secretaries from the 17th and 18th centuries. The look is certainly still traditional — like a proper Florentine palace — but with a Clarins-stocked spa and the three-Michelin-starred  Enotecca Pinchiorri, the feeling is refreshed.

Those 4's I put about care moral may be Italians are like that, it was not my first interval it seemed to me that they are not satisfied, my boyfriend said that he did not notify that. But anyway, I regard as personnel should always grin. And the bell bodily was not speaking English and could not give poop about hotel sufficiantly, besides, he was reasonably age-old, I felt bad for him dragging my baggage. But I ruminate on courtesy superintendence, may be I fitting be familiar with too much how it shold be =)))
