Hollywood heartthrob Leo DiCaprio has just become a marketing advisor and investor of the visual-social media platform Mobli, leading a round of $4 million of investment for the media start-up.
DiCaprio joins the ranks of other celebrity investors who have also put money into tech companies, including Ashton Kutcher, Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga.
Mobli, an Israel-based platform, is a photo-sharing app tied to social networking platforms. The app allows users to see what is on other people’s screens as they use it.
DiCaprio is an avid user of Mobli, as are celebrity pals David Arquette and Paris Hilton. Its real-time component promises to give fans unique access to the stars, the company says, by “letting users see the world through other people’s eyes.”
