Hundreds of women from a sorority targeted by a serial rapist gathered Saturday for the Fort Worth chapter's Annual Sisterhood Luncheon, despite their fears.
Delta Sigma Thetas met in a relatively public place -- Radisson Hotel-Fossil Creek in Fort Worth -- while the attacker is still on the loose.
"I'm heartbroken about what's happened. And at the same time, I feel empowered," said keynote speaker Julianne Malveaux, who urged her sorority to match the $5,000 Crime Stoppers reward to find the man caught on surveillance video.
Police said he's been raping black women in their 50s and 60s who are members of Delta Sigma Theta.
"This situation, of course, is alarming," said Malveaux.
