Developer Abraham Atiyeh has changed plans for a property most recently eyed for a detox center and psychiatric hospital back to a proposed high-end apartment complex.
Atiyeh has submitted revised plans for an apartment complex on the 5-acre site at Center Street and Dewberry Avenue. The developer said his new submission improves upon plans denied last year to build 102 apartments on the property.
New plans include six fewer apartments in three buildings instead of four buildings, he said. Atiyeh said he also proposes moving parking to the back of the buildings and the driveway from Center Street to the less busy Dewberry Avenue in response to neighbors’ concerns.
