FIRST it was pink for breast cancer awareness, then it was black for the Rugby World Cup and this week John Singleton has repainted the Bellevue Hotel yet again.

The pub will remain pink and blue - the colours of the gastrointestinal disease charity The Gut Foundation - at least until next week.

Despite complaints from residents, Woollahra Council has no intention of fining the owners.

Pub co-owner Paddy Coughlan said a council threat of a $3000 fine for painting the building without development consent was “bureaucracy gone mad”.

“It’s certainly not permanent, they’re all temporary and the pub will go back to its normal colours,” Mr Coughlan said.

The council’s general manager Gary James said Mr Singleton had informed him the building would be returned to its original heritage colours soon.

The Bellevue Aparthotel complex is very lively, enormous and one of the most impressive looking in Puerto Alcudia . In fact it is one of the largest in Europe. It is made up of 17 apartment builidings ( 1500 studios), spaced out over a wide attractive landscaped garden area with sun terraces.
